Gearing Up for . . . Greenville Open Studios 2013

Managing the wholesale side of Carrier Studio has kept me busy over the past year and I haven't been able to paint as often as I wish I could . . . but, the past few weeks, I've made time to dive into a few new pieces. One of my current favorites is a painting titled "Treat".

This painting measures 18" x 24" and is a Mixed Media on Panel.  I started with this great handmade textured paper and removed the outline of the dog.  I then adhered it to the wood panel and used Golden Molding Paste to transition the edges of the paper into the area where I would be painting the dog image.

I also used this same technique on this painting titled "Remember".

This painting put up a fight and changed appearances many times before reaching completion.  If your an artist . . . I'm sure you can relate : D!  Some come easy and others . . . well, lets just say that I have several unfinished paintings and I'm a pretty good fighter : D!

I'm So excited for the Metropolitan Arts Councils "Open Studios" event coming up on November 1st, 2nd and 3rd and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again!  Until then, I'll keep painting and working on getting the studio ready . . . see you in November!
