Show Opening at Centre Stage...

Wow...what a crazy few months!  Things haven't stopped for me since Open Studios in November.  I am currently working on art for two shows...both opening the same day, January 6th.  "Paint, Paper, Scissors" a collaboration between Centre Stage and the Metropolitan Arts Council and a Curtain Show at Art and Light Gallery. For the Paint, Paper, Scissors show I continued to study the symbolic meaning of the imagery in my paintings.  Researching different cultures and religions I incorporate into the painting the meaning that most resonate with me.  The text adds a great graphic element to the painting and offers an emotional connection for the viewer.

This painting "Your Song" sold before it made it to the show, but you can see how I incorporated some of the words that are symbolic of a bird.

The curtain I'm working on will be made from a plum colored linen and will have and black, white, and gray bird fabric appliqued down the side of the curtain.  Teresa has lined up many different artist for this show and I'm sure it will be one to see!

So, mark you calendars and come out to Centre Stage on January 6th, 6:30 to 9:00pm and check out my new work.  Also, don't forget to check out my curtain at Art and Light Gallery on the same day, 6:00 to 9:00.  If you have any questions about either show, please contact me.  Otherwise I expect to see everyone there!
