Wholesale Market?

Well...after taking a few weeks off I've been back at the studio this week gearing up for a new venture.  I'm working on some new designs for my "Art Tray" collection.  The designs that get selected for this new venture will still be produced by hand at my studio but will be made available for the first time to a small wholesale market. Many different things to consider in this new arena...but I think I've got it under control. Some of my favorite designs consist of original artwork in the foreground with vintage letters used as the background.  I acquired a briefcase of an Elon College professor at auction years ago that contained several letters between he and his mother.  The envelope behind the bluebird above is one of those letters.  I love the way it was addressed and the bright red vintage stamp.

To help spur my creative juices I've signed up for a class this weekend with Patti Brady...Artist and author of "Rethinking Acrylic" which I'm super excited about.  I'm hoping to learn a few new techniques that I can apply to some of the designs.  If your an acrylic painter and have not purchased this book I highly recommend it!  There are so many different products for the acrylic artist and this book steps you through so many of them.

Check back over the next few weeks as I work my way through this entire process.  I had a fantastic year in 2011 and I feel so fortunate to be doing what I love and look forward to 2012!
