An all to familiar object from my childhood was the clothes pin. Many summer days were spent hanging the laundry on the line. My mothers argument was she didn't want to waste money on running the dryer and although I strongly disagreed, it didn't quite matter to her and out I went with my two sisters to hang the laundry.
With this painting I wanted to paint all the furry little details I saw on the wood, but knowing I would go crazy, I focused on the light, shadows, texture and color adding a few bright pops of color on my own. The background was achieved building layers of color and playing with resist and sand paper.
This painting is available in a Framed Wood Reproduction. I just received the first one off the printer today and it looks just as good as the original. Check out the Shop for more details.
