Ok...it might be a small "Mill House" but when your renovating top to bottom it seems mighty large. STILL painting trim, walls and windows and still have more to paint. Last weekend we installed the floor tile and wall tile in the bathroom.
Really happy with the way the tile turned out. It's very hard for me to keep things on budget but we got lucky and found the gray floor tile for around $25(clearanced) and the white subway is stock tile at Home Depot (installed it ourselves). Still have grouting to do on the wall tile, reglazing the tub and deciding on what kind of treatment I want on the walls. The walls are very rough so I'm thinking about doing some kind of plaster...not sure yet.
Take a look at the cork flooring that we installed in the back room:
Looks great and was very easy to install. The hardwood floors were so damaged in this room that we couldn't save them so the cork was our solution. We also purchased enough to install in the hall. (While installing the last row, we learned that reversing the installation order would have made things much easier, but we made it work.)
One of the next decisions to make is what color to paint the exterior of the house. I found this door mat and loved it so much that I thought I would use it for inspiration. I also purchased a large ceramic pot that is the turquoise color in the mat that will hold some plants at the front door. Don't worry...I'm using it for inspiration, it won't be bright red or turquoise...but the front door might!
